Sometime in June, Mr. Frei will row his Adirondack Guideboat from Baltimore to Washington, DC. While a shorter trip than either The Big Row or the Erie Canal journeys, this adventure will have its own charms...including the southern Chesapeake and the length of the Potomac, all upstream. So c'mon along, vicariously, will you? Mr. Smith went to Washington in '39...Mr. Frei follows 70 years later...at 3.5 knots...facing backwards. Oh, what a page-turner this will be!
20 Miles! An auspicious start to the upstream leg. Way to go Al! By the time you hit Quantico, you'll be able to show those Marines a thing or two.
